The Ikea table is PERFECT for entryway! I have the birch finish in mine temporarily until I can get a dark one & move the birch back to the bedroom- but this has made me second guess the dark color - white may be a better, brighter choice... hmm...

Be very careful watering those plants; ideally, don't water them at all unless the soil looks totally parched. The potting soil you chose is not ideal for succulents, since it "controls" the watering by absorbing it into small pellets and releasing it over time. That serves many plants well, but can mean that succulents are in a too-moist environment for a much longer period than would occur if you just over-watered once or twice and then let the pot dry out naturally. Typically, succulents and cacti can handle a deluge of water every now and then, but constant moist conditions do not serve them well.

The key to keeping succulents and cacti alive is really ignoring them. Like the reader who commented, "I am a succulent killing machine. . . ." most people over-tend succulents and cacti, which, unfortunately, kills them.

There are many online websites with less expensive rugs. I really like the rugs at Home Decorators and Ballard Design. Also, Indoor/Outdoor rugs tend to be cheaper than normal rugs and they withstand wear and tear incredibly well so don't shy away from outdoor rugs.

Since you described your color pallet and what you are looking for, I actually picked out the PERFECT rug for you: http://www.ballarddesigns.com/saybrook-indoor-2foutdoor-rug/rugs/all-rugs/235874?listIndex=65

Best part is the 8' x 11' 2" is only $319!

Check it out!

Cute! I've heard that root-tone (or something sounding like that) is good for propogating succulents. I left one of mine without enough light so the top growth starting popping off... eek! I moved it to better light so we'll see how it does!

I love your pots - I really love planting in glass containers like this.

I love to garden & have planted a lot this spring. I trade plants often with friends & can never pass a garden center without browsing or smelling the plants. I love it.

Aww, Tina is as adorable as ever! I'd love to have plants inside, but I don't for fear that my kitties will try to eat them.

I am in awe of your ability to not only keep succulents alive, but to propagate them for additional growth. I am a succulent killing machine.
