Master Bedroom Redo: The Big Reveal

We won’t keep you in suspense any longer.  It’s time for the bedroom reveal!

Here’s a quick pic to remind you of our bedroom before:

And here’s the after!

The other side of the room:

A view of my dresser with some cheerful yellow flowers on top:

Remember that mirror we found on craigslist?  I originally planned on painting the frame, but luckily Stephen pointed out that the goldy-yellow went perfectly with our color scheme.  Doesn’t it look great above our bed?

Here’s a close up of Stephen’s night stand.  I was so pumped when I found this little yellow dish to “catch all” his stuff.  Stephen’s currently reading The Alchemist.  The engineering book is there cause it looked cute. =)

My side of the bed:

I picked up this copy of Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger, the author of The Devil Wears Prada, the other day.  Has anybody read it?  Would you recommend?

Remember those pictures I was planning to put above Stephen’s dresser?  Here they are on a floating picture rail we built.

and finally our little art corner:

I’m still working on a little throw pillow for that yellow chair and I need to find a candle for my frilly white charger, but rooms are never really done, are they? ;)

Well there you have it!  The Heardmont master bedroom.  Questions?  Comments?  Can’t wait to hear how we hung that mirror (all 50 lb of it) or made that picture rail?  Stay tuned!

Also: there’s a consignment shop at Wedington & Double Springs called Furnish. Nolen and I went there a few days ago; it has a fairly small inventory, but I saw a few pieces of furniture you might like (vintage modern looking, tapered legs, whatnot). http://furnishnwa.com

Yay! The room looks great! The lamps and the fixture are a big upgrade. I also love the mirror! Great find!

After seeing your pictures you were going to mount, I was wondering how you were going to pull that off and it end up symmetrical.. symmetry is a big thing around my place.. but the different print and frame sizes in black and white look excellent! Very nice!

very nice. I’m impressed. The room looks amazing!

Thanks for all the comments and compliments, you guys! I am so relieved to have the room done – it’s a huge check mark off the Heardmont to-do list. Brittany, maybe we can check out Furbish sometime; it looks super fun. And Michael, I totally know what you mean about symmetry. For example, once we got those matching bedside tables and lamps, the room felt so much more calm and balanced. Thanks again to all! I love comments =)

I can’t wait to learn how you wrassled that mirror onto the wall!

And I’m completely in love with your splash art. So well done — especially considering it’s a project that would be easy to over-do.

  8. It looks awesome in there! Thanks so much for the link. We love what you did!
